There have been a handful of moments in my life where I have received words to affirm my way of being. To demystify my namesake for instance; On a high school report card one of my instructors described me as “a mummified frog, waiting for the spring dew to thaw, so that [I] may leap forward”, another in college when a friend told me I had “Soporific vibes”. When these moments occured, I’ll admit, I was at a loss of understanding as to what any of it meant- mummified frog? thahell does that mean?

As with many instances of confusion I found myself in a normal pattern of trusting that ‘what is meant for me will stick with me’ and sure enough, these concepts as I age and grow in experience continue to grow along side me. I am comfortable in my day to day slow sleepy identity as I’m filled with the self knowledge that I have the fire to strike with efficient and exacting sensibility when called upon.

I find that I’m best explained in relation to others, that contextual means of being seen through seeing. That’s where I effort in my artworks, reaching out with what is vibrant and alive and resourced in me to hopefully touch on or spark aliveness in others.

I am a multi-media artist currently specializing in aerosol and acrylic paints. I’ve been a student of the arts since age 5, though when it came time for college I was far too depressed to apply for art school. It’s worth mentioning im a neurodivergent She/her, less in the way of poor me- more in the way of ‘ oh yea, that makes sense’. I’m happy to expound on these and many other topics, though I much prefer to let my work do the talking for me.
